Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Assist nursing staff with routine tasks and follow care plans to ensure continuity
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the licensed nurse
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident environments
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records and communicate effectively with the care team
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in good standing (state-required)
• CPR/BLS certification (Basic Life Support) preferred or required per facility
• Prior experience as a CNA preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills are welcome
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
• Ability to stand, lift, and assist residents as required by role
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CNA certification (state-specific)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and personal care
• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
• Basic charting and documentation skills (paper or electronic records)
• Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
