Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for laboring patients throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using fetal monitoring and respond promptly to changes
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn assessments as needed
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesia, and pediatric teams to coordinate safe deliveries
• Educate and support patients and families about labor progress, interventions, and postpartum care
• Complete required documentation and Trinity specialty competency evaluations accurately and timely
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Ohio)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• NIHSS certification required as listed
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
• Current fit test and required health screenings (PPD/IGRA, 10-panel drug screen, immunizations) as part of onboarding

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical skills in labor and delivery and postpartum nursing
• Fetal heart rate monitoring and interpretation
• Neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessment
• Ability to prioritize and act quickly in obstetric emergencies
• Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary care teams
• Familiarity with Trinity documentation and competency processes
