Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate LPN care on a med-surgical telemetry unit, monitoring patients and responding to changes
• Perform bedside procedures such as peripheral IV starts and dressing changes with precision
• Monitor telemetry strips and notify the team of any concerning rhythms
• Document thoroughly and timely in Cerner PowerChart to ensure continuity of care
• Support the interdisciplinary team and assist the charge nurse to maintain safe patient ratios
• Float to other medical-surgical areas and ED holding as needed while maintaining unit standards

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) with active state licensure
• Minimum 2+ years clinical experience, preferably in medical-surgical and telemetry settings
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, peripheral IV starts and dressing changes
• Familiarity with Cerner PowerChart or similar EMR preferred
• Flexibility to work night shifts and scheduled weekends; travel nurse experience a plus
• Charge nurse experience is a plus and will be considered favorably

Education

• LPN/LVN (state licensure required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-surgical nursing and telemetry monitoring
• Peripheral IV starts and wound/dressing care
• Experience with Baxter IV pumps and wound VACs
• Proficient documentation in Cerner PowerChart
• Strong teamwork, communication and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment
