Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-acuity labor and delivery care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients.
• Manage and support laboring patients in L&D rooms and triage, ensuring safety and comfort throughout labor.
• Assist in operating room support for C-sections as a circulating or scrub role when needed.
• Administer and monitor IV therapies (including magnesium drips) and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Perform and monitor epidurals and spinals in coordination with anesthesia and obstetrics teams.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Meditech and CPN documentation systems.
• Collaborate closely with OB physicians, anesthesia, pediatrics/NICU and support staff to deliver excellent patient experience.
• Support families with education, communication and emotional reassurance through the childbirth process.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (state licensure required for assignment)
• Minimum ~2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (as noted in the assignment)
• Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications (required)
• Comfortable with high-acuity obstetric care, IV infusions (e.g., magnesium) and perioperative support
• Experience with Meditech and CPN documentation systems preferred
• OR circulating/scrub experience is helpful and valued
• AWOHHN Fetal Heart Rate certification may be a plus but is not required for this opening

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery procedures: C-sections, epidurals, spinals, cerclage and external cephalic version
• Ability to manage high-acuity maternal patients and coordinate rapid responses
• Skilled in IV medication administration and monitoring (including magnesium drips)
• Familiarity with perioperative roles in OB — circulating and scrub assistance
• Proficient documentation skills with Meditech and CPN
• Excellent teamwork, communication and family-centered care skills
