Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to ICU patients, monitoring complex conditions and responding quickly to changes
• Manage ventilators and respiratory support, including CPAP/BiPAP and advanced ventilator settings
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms to guide patient care
• Deliver safe central line care, assist with port access, and perform therapeutic phlebotomy as needed
• Administer and monitor blood transfusions and post-dialysis assessments with clinical vigilance
• Document thoroughly and accurately using Meditech Expanse to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with physicians, families, and support staff
• Support unit procedures such as physician-led paracentesis and participate in unit education initiatives

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in good standing (compact license accepted if indicated)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• BLS required and ACLS required
• Current NIHSS (or equivalent stroke scale) certification, maintained annually
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator management, telemetry, central line care, and blood transfusion
• Comfort using Meditech Expanse or similar electronic health record systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and ICU patient management
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Ventilator management and respiratory support including CPAP/BiPAP
• Central line care, port access, and therapeutic phlebotomy
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse documentation
• Chest tube, NG tube, wound VAC, and drain management
• Post-dialysis assessment and blood transfusion procedures
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and clear communication skills
