Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist using therapeutic procedures and assistive devices
- Deliver treatments to restore muscle strength, range of motion, coordination, mobility, and body alignment
- Implement therapeutic modalities and pain management strategies to improve patient function
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist and care team
- Educate patients and families on home programs and safe mobility techniques to support long-term outcomes
- Adhere to the California State Practice Act and facility policies to ensure safe, compliant care
Qualifications
- Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid California License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA)
- Ability to work under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist and follow established treatment plans
Education
- Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care and hands-on therapeutic procedures
- Therapeutic modalities and pain management techniques
- Use of assistive devices and mobility training
- Range of motion and muscle strengthening interventions
- Body alignment, coordination training, and functional rehabilitation
