Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable progressive care patients from admission through discharge
Assess patients continuously and intervene promptly for changes in condition using advanced assessment skills
Operate and manage advanced medical equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
Interpret telemetry and EKG data to guide patient care and escalate as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Serve as a clinical leader: mentor, precept, and provide direction to RN, LPN, CNA and support staff
Manage discharge planning to ensure safe transitions of care and clear patient education
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to established policies and protocols

Qualifications

Current Montana RN licensure required
BLS, ACLS, and PALS required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire
Practice experience in an advanced Medical/Surgical unit with recent Critical Care or Progressive Care experience required
EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred
Comfortable providing pediatric care is a plus

Education

Degree from a Nursing Program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making in progressive care settings
Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
Ventilator support and short-term invasive/noninvasive ventilation management
Central line, arterial line, chest tube, nasogastric tube, and continuous bladder irrigation care
Experience with multiple IV pumps and advanced medical equipment operation
Clinical leadership, precepting, and interdisciplinary communication
Discharge planning and patient education
