Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the surgical services team, ensuring high-quality perioperative patient care
• Supervise, mentor, and schedule staff while promoting a collaborative, safe work environment
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiology, and ancillary departments to optimize OR flow
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and implement immediate solutions when needed
• Identify operational issues, develop short- and long-term improvements, and drive change
• Delegate duties appropriately to maintain efficient standards of operation and patient safety
• Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and facility policies while modeling best practices

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
• Minimum 5 years RN experience, including at least 2 years as a circulating RN in surgery
• Current California RN license required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• CNOR preferred
• One year of post-anesthesia care experience preferred
• Previous supervisory, leadership, or management experience preferred
• Strong written and oral English skills required

Education

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's degree or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and surgical services management expertise
• Strong leadership, delegation, and staff supervision abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and clinical teams
• Ability to remain composed and respond quickly during true emergencies
• Problem identification and implementation of practical short- and long-term solutions
• Physical stamina for clinical duties, including lifting up to 35 pounds and extended standing/walking
