Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered orthopedic nursing care for pre- and post-op patients
• Perform dressing changes, suture and staple removal, wound vac maintenance and removal
• Manage Foley catheters, NG tubes and other common med-surg procedures safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in Cerner EMR
• Advocate for patient safety and mobility using lifts, gait devices and assistive equipment

Qualifications

• Active NC Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (hospital or med-surg/ortho preferred)
• Demonstrated orthopedic or hospital experience is a plus
• Comfortable with night shift work and every other weekend rotation
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Orthopedic nursing fundamentals and post-operative care
• Wound care, dressing changes, and suture/staple removal
• Foley catheter and NG tube management
• Safe patient handling (Sara Stedy, lifts) and mobility assistance
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR documentation
• Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
