Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care in a 23-bed Emergency Department, managing acuity at a 4:1 patient ratio
• Perform critical ED procedures such as cardioversion and moderate sedation safely and confidently
• Administer emergency medications and thrombolytics (TNK) following facility protocols
• Assess, triage and prioritize patients rapidly to ensure timely care in a busy ED environment
• Document patient care thoroughly in Meditech and use unit equipment (Welch Allyn/GE) effectively
• Collaborate with providers, CNCs and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in unit-based initiatives and council activities to improve workflow and patient experience
• Model a positive, team-player attitude and contribute to a supportive small-town hospital culture

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Current ALS and BLS certification required
• TNCC and ENPC or PALS required (ENPC preferred when applicable)
• Minimum 1 year Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• Comfortable with ED procedures such as cardioversion, TNK administration and moderate sedation
• Experience with Meditech EMR and familiarity with Welch Allyn/GE equipment is a plus
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and cover scheduled weekends (4 weekend shifts per schedule)
• Team player mindset, flexible schedule availability, and a positive, upbeat demeanor

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department nursing best practices and triage
• Proficiency in Meditech electronic medical record documentation
• Skills in cardioversion, TNK administration and moderate sedation monitoring
• Familiarity with Welch Allyn and GE clinical equipment
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage a 4:1 patient ratio safely and efficiently
• Excellent communication, collaboration and unit-based teamwork
