Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients during night shift
• Assess, monitor, and document patient condition changes and communicate effectively with the care team
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinicians to develop and implement patient care plans
• Maintain thorough, timely charting in the electronic medical record and ensure regulatory compliance
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with clarity and empathy
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement efforts and support a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or Compact RN privilege
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications such as ACLS are a plus
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and participating in weekend/holiday rotations
• Strong clinical judgment, time management, and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements and background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med/Surg clinical knowledge and patient assessment skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Prioritization, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple patients safely
• Customer-focused attitude with strong patient and family education skills
