Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac monitoring to keep patients safe
• Titrate vasoactive drips and manage hemodynamic support per unit protocols
• Perform IV insertion and manage PICC/central lines and arterial lines
• Provide airway management including CPAP/BiPAP support and tracheostomy care
• Manage PCA and epidural pumps as well as other infusion devices
• Care for post-op and complex medical patients on the stepdown/PCU unit
• Use specialty equipment such as bladder scanners, wound VACs, Optiflow/Vapotherm/Airvo
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and document patient care clearly

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required prior to start)
• Experience in Progressive Care/Stepdown (PCU) and telemetry monitoring
• Demonstrated skill with IV insertion, PICC/central line and A-line management
• Experience titrating vasoactive medications
• Comfortable with airway support (CPAP/BiPAP) and trach care
• Familiarity with PCA/epidural pumps, feeding tubes, wound VAC care and dialysis fistula care

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Vasoactive drip titration and hemodynamic assessment
• IV access, central line and arterial line management
• Airway support techniques including CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy care
• Operation of infusion pumps, PCA/epidural pumps, Optiflow/Vapotherm/Airvo
• Post-operative and complex medical patient management in a stepdown setting
