Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to oncology/BMT ICU patients, managing total care needs.
• Manage ventilators and BiPAP patients and titrate drips safely and effectively.
• Perform tracheostomy care, dressing changes and other advanced ICU procedures.
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including CRRT, A-lines, Flow-track and IV pumps.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Meditech EMR and communicate changes in condition clearly.
• Adhere to unit policies and maintain patient ratios (typically 2:1) to ensure safe staffing and care.

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) credential appropriate for practice in the assignment state
• ACLS and BLS required (current certifications)
• Strong ICU/critical care experience with ventilator and titration of drips (minimum 1 year ICU experience per posting)
• Comfortable with BiPAP, trach care, and caring for critically ill oncology/BMT patients
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and BiPAP experience
• Titrating drips and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• CRRT experience and A-line familiarity (preferred)
• Proficiency with IV pumps and Flow-track hemodynamic tools
• Patient assessment and critical care nursing judgment
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to build rapport with physicians
