Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency department with professionalism, speed, and compassion.
Triage patients quickly and accurately, assessing both physical and psychosocial needs to prioritize care and manage patient flow.
Communicate effectively with ER physicians and mid-level providers regarding changes in patient status, diagnostics, and treatment responses.
Respond rapidly and accurately to acute changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions and escalation when needed.
Direct and coordinate Emergency Department techs, registration staff, and allied health personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Document assessments, interventions, and patient education clearly and timely in the medical record.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Current MT Registered Nurse license required.
Degree from an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required.
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred but not required.

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Strong emergency department nursing principles and procedures knowledge.
Skilled in triage and rapid patient assessment.
Competent with IV therapy and operation of manual and electronic medical equipment.
Clear communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and allied staff.
Basic computer and office skills for documentation and department coordination.
