Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to swing bed and acute inpatients
• Administer and monitor IV therapy per scope and certification
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document changes in condition
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to support recovery and discharge planning
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies using ACLS/PALS protocols as required
• Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate charts and ensure compliance with facility policies and standards

Qualifications

• Valid Alaska LPN license required
• IV certification required
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Experience caring for inpatient and swing bed patients preferred
• Comfortable working day or night shifts and adapting to rotating schedules
• Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset

Education

• Practical Nursing diploma or LPN certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• IV therapy skills and secure IV medication administration
• Clinical assessment of acute and swing bed patients
• Familiarity with inpatient documentation and charting
• Basic emergency response and stabilizing skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and ancillary staff
• Patient- and family-centered care approach
