Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies to ensure every case starts on time and safely
• Assist anesthesia providers during induction and emergence, anticipating needs and responding calmly in acute situations
• Sterilize, clean, and restock instruments and workspaces to maintain a safe, efficient operating room environment
• Document perioperative activities accurately in Cerner, supporting clear communication across the care team
• Monitor and manage equipment checks, troubleshooting minor issues and escalating when needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and allied staff to support high-quality patient care in an acute hospital setting

Qualifications

• ASAAT certification required (must be ASAAT certified prior to start)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in anesthesia tech or acute care settings
• Comfortable using Cerner or similar electronic charting systems
• Ability to complete all MyJourney modules prior to arrival (mandatory)
• Willingness to complete a general orientation (about one week) and 12 orientation hours as required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Formal Anesthesia Technician training or certification (ASAAT) preferred/required

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with anesthesia machines, airway equipment, and monitoring devices
• Strong sterile technique and infection control practices
• Proficient documentation skills in Cerner or equivalent EHR
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced acute care
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize under pressure
• Basic troubleshooting and equipment maintenance knowledge
