Roles & Responsibilities

Provide patient-centered nursing care in the gastroenterology clinic, following established standards and scope of practice
Triage patient calls, accurately assess urgency, and coordinate appropriate follow-up with providers
Take and document vital signs, assist with clinical assessments, and monitor patient status
Manage prescription refills and complete prior authorization paperwork to keep patients on therapy without delay
Serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and clinic staff to ensure smooth care transitions
Coach and direct CNAs and schedulers as needed to maintain efficient clinic operations
Collaborate with RNs, providers, coordinators, and clinical managers to support team-based patient care

Qualifications

Current State LPN license (required)
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN/Vocational Nursing)
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Comfortable performing triage, taking vital signs, and managing prescription refills and prior authorizations
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
Experience supervising or directing CNAs and clinic support staff is a plus

Education

Graduate of a Nursing Program (LPN/Vocational Nursing) and current LPN licensure

Patient care and clinical assessment
Triage and telephone triage protocols
Medication refill workflows and prior authorization processes
Clear patient and team communication
Teamwork within interdisciplinary clinical settings
Gastroenterology clinic knowledge and patient liaison skills
Basic life support and emergency response preparedness
