Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Pre-Admission, Pre-op, and PACU teams to deliver safe, patient-centered care
• Coordinate daily operations, staffing, and patient flow across perioperative areas
• Mentor and develop nursing staff, fostering clinical excellence and professional growth
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize pre-op preparation and post-op recovery
• Implement and uphold policies, quality initiatives, and safety standards
• Troubleshoot operational challenges and escalate appropriately to ensure smooth care delivery
• Serve as a visible leader on the unit, modeling best practices and maintaining morale

Qualifications

• Current CA Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• BSN or higher (BSN required/preferred in this posting)
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in PACU and/or Pre-op
• At least 2+ years of formal leadership experience, with PACU leadership experience required
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and team-building abilities
• Ability to work Monday–Friday during normal business hours with occasional weekend phone coverage

Education

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of perioperative nursing workflows (Pre-op, PACU, Pre-Admission)
• Clinical leadership and staff management skills
• Patient triage, assessment, and post-anesthesia recovery expertise
• Familiarity with quality improvement and patient safety protocols
• Ability to coordinate care across interdisciplinary teams and manage patient flow
