Bill Rate: $15,000.00 sign-on bonus; $52,041.60-$71,557.20 (without national certification); $57,241.60-$78,707.20 (with national certification)

Roles & Responsibilities

Scrub and provide direct surgical support during cardiovascular procedures with precision and calm
Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies for CVOR cases across all age groups
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently to keep cases running smoothly
Operate, clean, and verify surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring readiness for each case
Document case information and instrument counts accurately to support patient safety and compliance
Collaborate with RNs and the surgical team, following established protocols and demonstrating sound judgment
Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely surgical coverage when needed

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) specialty experience
BCLS certification required
Certification by an approved body recommended (NBSTSA - CST, NCCT - TS-C, or AST)
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

Scrub techniques across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
Ability to function independently within established protocols and unit procedures
Competence in tasks assigned by the RN and strong teamwork skills
Sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, and strict adherence to patient confidentiality
Proficiency with electronic documentation and basic computer skills
