Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, critical care nursing for NVICU patients, maintaining a 2:1 patient ratio
• Manage advanced vascular access and hemodynamic monitoring, including central lines and arterial lines
• Perform and assist with intubation and closely monitor ventilated patients
• Deliver specialized care for EVD patients, coordinating with core staff as needed
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and support interdisciplinary communication
• Float across ICUs, BMT and PCU floors as needed while maintaining unit standards
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and participate in unit quality and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice (or compact licensure if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (NVICU/critical care experience preferred)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Comfortable with ICU equipment and procedures: central line/A-line management, intubation, EVD patient care
• Ability to float to multiple critical care areas (All ICUs, BMT, PCU floors)
• Strong teamwork, accountability and patient-centered communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep familiarity with ICU-level patient assessment and critical care interventions
• Experience using Meditech or similar EMR systems for documentation
• Skilled in vascular access care (central lines, arterial lines) and managing associated devices
• Hands-on experience with intubation support and ventilated patient monitoring
• Comfort with neuro/oncology critical care concepts and EVD patient management
• Solid clinical judgment, prioritization and emergency response skills (ACLS-level)
