Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to progressive care unit patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and other vital signs to detect changes quickly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and according to policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings clearly to the care team
• Document patient care, interventions, and responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning to support recovery

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact RN license eligible
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care or PCU nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and experience with telemetry/monitoring
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and adapting quickly to new unit workflows

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) clinical experience and cardiac monitoring
• Proficient in medication administration and IV therapy
• Skilled in patient assessment, triage, and prioritization
• Clear communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation best practices
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making in acute care settings
