Shift Type: Rotating 3x12 schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, includes some weekends (day/evening shifts)

Roles & Responsibilities

Triage patients quickly and accurately, prioritizing care based on presenting symptoms and patient needs.
Provide direct and indirect emergency care, carrying out assessments and interventions with professional autonomy.
Communicate changes in patient status, diagnostic results, and treatment responses clearly with physicians and mid-level providers.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, mid-level providers, techs, registration, and allied staff—to ensure smooth patient flow.
Direct and provide guidance to ED technicians, registration staff, and allied health personnel to maintain high-quality care.
Respond rapidly and appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergent situations.

Qualifications

Current MT State RN license required
Degree from an accredited nursing program required (BSN preferred)
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) is a plus
Basic computer skills and proven ability to operate manual and electronic medical equipment

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency Department nursing principles and triage
Rapid patient assessment and IV therapy skills
Proficiency with ACLS, BLS, PALS protocols
TNCC and ENPC knowledge for trauma and pediatric emergency care
Ability to operate medical equipment and use basic office/computer systems
Strong communication and leadership abilities to direct staff when needed
