Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry closely and respond to changes in patient rhythm and condition with confidence
• Provide progressive care for step-down and medical-surgical patients, delivering safe, evidence-based nursing
• Manage quick-turnover and short-stay patients efficiently while maintaining excellent patient experience
• Document assessments, interventions, and care plans accurately using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure smooth patient transitions
• Float to other units as needed to support staffing and maintain continuity of care
• Maintain patient ratios and prioritize care in a fast-paced environment (typical ratios 1:5 or 1:6 stretch)

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — PCU/Progressive Care focus
• Telemetry competency (must have)
• Progressive Care experience required; recent progressive care experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Approximately 2 years of relevant nursing experience (as listed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring skills and familiarity with bedside hardwired monitors
• Experience with Cerner EMR for documentation and order workflows
• Comfort managing mixed-level care: med-surg and step-down patients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, quick-turnover environment
• Team-oriented communication and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to adapt and float to other units when needed
