Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, post-operative cardiac critical care for CVICU patients with compassion and precision
• Monitor and interpret advanced hemodynamic and telemetry data to guide clinical decisions
• Administer and titrate vasoactive medications and IV therapies safely following protocols
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team including surgeons, intensivists and therapists to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform thorough assessments, document changes promptly, and escalate concerns to the care team
• Provide patient and family education about recovery, procedures and ongoing care needs

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (active and in good standing) required
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU or critical care nursing experience, as listed in the job
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex cardiac patients and critical care equipment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a high-acuity team

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced cardiac monitoring and interpretation of telemetry
• Hemodynamic support and management, including vasoactive drips
• Experience with ventilator management and post-op cardiac care
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line care and arterial monitoring
• Prioritization and crisis management in a fast-paced ICU environment
