Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality orthopedic nursing care to post-op and surgical patients on J6 Orthopedics
• Perform dressing changes, suture and staple removal, and wound vac maintenance with attention to detail
• Manage Foley catheters, NG tubes and other common post-operative devices safely and confidently
• Use Cerner EMR to document patient assessments, medications and care plans accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure smooth patient transitions and positive outcomes
• Maintain patient safety using assistive equipment (walkers, lifts, bariatric devices) and proper handling
• Act as a team player during both day and night operations to support unit staffing and patient ratios

Qualifications

• Active NC RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience (as listed)
• Hospital and orthopedic experience preferred
• Comfortable using Cerner EMR and common orthopedic equipment

Knowledge & Skills

• Orthopedic nursing best practices and post-op care
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Foley catheter and NG tube care
• Experience with Cerner EMR documentation
• Ability to work in fast-paced med-surg/orthopedic environment and adapt to changing patient needs
• Familiarity with patient lifts, CPM machines, bladder scanners and mobility aids
