Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical/telemetry unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry leads, quickly recognizing and escalating abnormalities
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly in the chart
• Perform patient assessments, communicate findings to the care team, and support care plans
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and ancillary staff to deliver coordinated care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control and hospital policies

Qualifications

• Valid LPN/LVN license (eligible to practice in Louisiana preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred or encouraged where applicable
• Strong telemetry monitoring skills and experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Reliable clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a team-first attitude

Education

• Diploma or certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Medical-surgical nursing fundamentals and acute patient care
• Medication administration and IV/fluids familiarity
• Patient assessment, documentation, and electronic health record (EHR) use
• Effective communication, teamwork, and time management in a fast-paced setting
