Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and perform reliable assessments
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
• Document patient status, interventions and progress clearly in the medical record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly
• Support unit operations by assisting with admissions, discharges and transfers

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable preferred
• Comfortable working 12+ hour daytime shifts and managing multiple patients
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused attitude
• Prior acute care or medical-surgical experience preferred

Education

• LPN: Graduation from an accredited LPN/LVN program
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV/line care knowledge
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) charting
• Infection control and patient safety best practices
• Ability to triage, prioritize and respond in fast-paced settings
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family education and team collaboration
