Interventional Radiology Technologist - Neuro/Stroke
Location: Winston Salem, NC
Start Date: 04-15-2026
End Date: 07-15-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x10 Day shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (staggered start 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM); First shift with evenings/nights & weekend on-call rotation (primary and backup). Day off will vary weekly.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and maintain a sterile field for complex Interventional Radiology procedures with precision and calm
- Assist in Neuro (stroke) IR cases — including thrombectomy/thrombolysis — and support body/interventional procedures like angioplasty and stent placement
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging systems (Siemens and Phillips) and work with PACS to ensure clean, accessible imaging
- Prepare and administer contrast safely, and assist with biopsies, drainages, venous access, and other IR procedures
- Document procedures and chart in electronic systems (Epic/McKesson preferred) to maintain accurate patient records
- Participate in on-call rotation for evenings/nights and weekends, providing timely support as primary or backup
- Support orientation and training activities during the first week and help onboard travelers or new staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prioritize patient safety and deliver high-quality, timely care
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Neuro (stroke) Interventional Radiology scrub experience (HARD STOP) — traveler experience required (no first-time travelers)
- Current ARRT (R) certification required and BLS required; ARRT Advanced preferred
- Experience with Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment and PACS required; Acuson preferred
- Inpatient hospital IR experience with contrast administration and broad IR procedure exposure (angiography, angioplasty, stents, biopsies, drainages, venous access)
- Familiarity with Epic and McKesson charting systems preferred
- Available for mandatory orientation week and able to provide interview availability within 72 hours
Knowledge & Skills
- Interventional Radiology workflows and scrub procedures
- Neuro (stroke) IR techniques including thrombectomy and thrombolysis
- Angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, biopsies, drainages, venous access
- Contrast administration and safety protocols
- Operation of Siemens and Phillips imaging systems and PACS
- Electronic charting (Epic/McKesson) and strong documentation practices
- Ability to function on-call, triage urgent cases, and support a fast-paced inpatient environment
- Strong sterile technique, team communication, and patient-centered care
