Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, feeding, oral care and toileting
• Perform and record vital signs accurately using electronic equipment and gluco meters
• Support safe patient mobility: safe transfers, use of Hoyer lift, transfer boards and gait assistance
• Deliver routine catheter care, urine collection and incontinence management with dignity
• Turn and reposition patients to prevent pressure injuries and promote comfort
• Observe, document and report changes in patient condition promptly in the charting system (Epic preferred)
• Adhere to infection control practices including donning/removing PPE and isolation precautions
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and participate in rapid response when needed
• Serve as charge resource when required, leveraging prior charge experience to support the unit

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
• Previous charge experience required (able to lead and coordinate at shift level)
• Travel experience required — comfortable with floating between units
• BLS certification preferred
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, every-other-weekend and on-call as needed

Education

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• BLS certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in measuring and recording vital signs, including pulse oximetry and temperature (oral, rectal, axillary, tympanic)
• Skilled with glucometer use and glucose point-of-care testing
• Competent in safe patient handling: Hoyer lift, transfer belts, sliding boards and proper body mechanics
• Familiar with electronic vital sign equipment and bedside documentation
• Knowledgeable in pressure injury prevention, skin care and foot care basics
• Strong infection control practices: isolation precautions and PPE use
• Ability to assist with ambulation, crutch use, oxygen tanks and mobility aids
• Clear communication and accurate reporting of changes in patient condition
