Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate patient care during the night shift, prioritizing comfort and clinical needs
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document all care in the chart
- Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition to the care team
- Collaborate with RNs, providers, and ancillary staff to support smooth handoffs and continuity of care
- Perform routine assessments, wound care, and IV support as appropriate to your license
- Participate in unit-based quality initiatives and contribute ideas to improve patient experience
Qualifications
- Current LPN license; RN candidates considered depending on facility needs
- Valid nursing license in the state of New Mexico or ability to obtain licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications a plus
- Clinical experience in acute care, rehab, or related settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Completion of an accredited LPN program; RN diploma/degree if applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and bedside care fundamentals
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Charting in electronic medical records and accurate handoff reporting
- Ability to prioritize and respond calmly in urgent situations
- Teamwork, time management, and strong interpersonal skills
