Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, efficient observation care for adults with short stays (goal: disposition in less than two midnights)
• Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe
• Start and maintain IVs, manage PICC and central lines, and administer blood products as needed
• Manage endocrine and metabolic protocols including IV insulin titration per unit guidelines
• Respond on rapid response/code teams and collaborate with APPs and supervising MDs
• Coordinate care and disposition planning to support timely discharges or transfers
• Document patient care thoroughly using Epic to ensure clear communication across the team
• Work as part of a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio model, taking charge assignments when needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Ohio (or compact privileges where applicable)
• BCLS required
• ACLS and OCN preferred
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience (must meet experience within the last 3 years and have at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and IV/PICC/central line care
• Comfortable charting in Epic and working in a teaching hospital environment
• Willingness to float occasionally to support nearby med/surg-tele areas

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation
• Telemetry/MS/Tele/Telemetry Oncology workflows
• IV therapy, starting/maintaining IVs, PICC and central line management
• Epic documentation and electronic charting proficiency
• Experience with rapid response/code team participation
• Familiarity with IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols and titration drips
• Respiratory support basics: BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula management
• Phlebotomy and blood product administration
