Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to patients, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs and patient observations
• Support safe patient mobility and assist with transfers and positioning
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the nursing team
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection prevention practices
• Document patient care thoroughly and professionally in charts and logs

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Active state CNA credential in New Mexico if required by facility
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or obtained quickly
• Comfortable assisting with personal care and working directly with patients
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background check, and any required screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and safety techniques
• Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
• Assisting with ADLs and safe transfer techniques
• Infection prevention and standard precautions
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients and families
• Basic familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn
