Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Provide compassionate hands-on care while preserving dignity and independence
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
• Assist with meal setup and feeding support when needed
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through consistent, friendly care

Qualifications

• GNA certification or equivalent required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain
• Reliable background check and immunizations per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and standing for shifts
• Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification or state-recognized credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care and dignity-centered approach
• Familiarity with ADLs, safe transfer techniques, and mobility assistance
• Good observation and documentation skills
• Ability to follow care plans and verbal instructions from licensed staff
• Strong teamwork, time management, and prioritization skills
