Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers safely and respectfully
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Document care accurately and maintain clear, timely records
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' dietary needs are met
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to promote quality care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or as required by facility
• Comfortable working with geriatric and long-term care populations
• Reliable transportation and ability to arrive for night shifts
• Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills
• Previous experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Basic patient mobility and safe transfer techniques
• Competent in bedside documentation and reporting
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
