Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful care to geriatric residents to support their dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff to ensure timely care
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Document care activities clearly and accurately to keep the care team informed
• Help create a calm, welcoming environment and engage residents in meaningful interactions
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to maintain a safe setting

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Comfortable working with elderly populations and assisting with ADLs
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Reliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled night shifts
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care needs and age-related conditions
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfers
• Familiarity with charting and documentation best practices
• Infection control and safety protocols
• Good observational skills and the ability to report changes promptly
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience
