Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and grooming with kindness and dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and any changes in resident condition accurately and promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in meaningful interaction
• Maintain clean, safe and comfortable resident environments following facility protocols
• Communicate effectively with nurses, family members and the care team about resident needs and concerns
• Complete timely documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Comfortable working the night shift and reliable for scheduled hours
• Ability to perform resident transfers and routine patient care safely
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or as required by facility policy
• Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification or state equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with geriatric care principles and age-specific needs
• Basic vital sign assessment and documentation skills
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Patient safety, fall prevention and safe transfer techniques
• Empathy, patience and strong observational skills
• Ability to follow care plans and accept direction from nursing staff
