Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and monitor vital signs throughout the shift
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with facility policy
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and physicians to develop and update patient care plans
- Document patient status and interventions clearly and promptly in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions and follow-up needs
- Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges to ensure smooth continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse license valid in New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain)
- Comfortable working night shifts and providing bedside nursing care
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or willing to obtain
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior clinical experience in a hospital or rehab setting preferred
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent nursing education
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
- Proficiency with medication administration and documentation
- Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Compassionate patient/family education and interpersonal skills
