Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality primary care to an adult, geriatric and pediatric patient panel — make a tangible difference every visit
• Perform outpatient procedures including suturing of minor lacerations and incision & drainage with confidence
• Deliver gynecologic care including pelvic exams and Pap smears as part of comprehensive primary care
• Document care efficiently in Epic EMR to maintain continuity and clarity across the care team
• Manage a typical patient load (average ~22 patients/day) while prioritizing patient-centered care
• Collaborate with the on-site mid-level provider and clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic flow

Qualifications

• MD or DO (or equivalent) with completion of residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Active or eligible medical license in Virginia (ability to obtain prior to start)
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR and outpatient documentation best practices
• Comfortable performing required procedures: pelvic exams/Pap smears, suturing, incision & drainage
• Ability to work independently in a locum setting; no in-house codes or ED backup required for this role
• Willingness to complete credentialing (estimated 45-60 days) and required onboarding

Education

• MD or DO degree; residency completion in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

Knowledge & Skills

• Primary care and outpatient medicine expertise
• Pediatric and adult outpatient clinical skills
• Gynecologic exam skills including pelvic exam and Pap smear
• Minor surgical procedures: suturing and I&D
• Experience with Epic EMR for charting and ordering
• Comfort working in a small clinic environment (3 exam rooms assigned)
• Familiarity with on-site lab and radiology workflows
