Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (rotating 12D/N option available; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology patients on a Med-Surg telemetry unit
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias and emergencies
- Administer and manage chemotherapy-related care in coordination with the interdisciplinary team
- Perform vascular access procedures including port access, PICC and central line care, and IV starts
- Manage arterial lines and assist with ABG interpretation and titration of respiratory support such as HFNC and BiPAP/CPAP
- Administer blood products safely and document per policy
- Support infection prevention protocols and fall prevention efforts to keep patients safe
- Collaborate with PT, RT, pharmacy, social services and rapid response teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed with a team-first attitude
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate state
- Minimum 2 years RN experience required (must meet experience within the last 3 years)
- At least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass
- BLS (BCLS) certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Competence with central line/PICC care, arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Ability to start and maintain IVs and assist with chest tube insertion/removal
- Comfort working with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ABG interpretation, and emergency responses
- Willingness to float within MedSurg Oncology units and work a 1:4 patient ratio
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Oncology care principles and symptom management related to chemotherapy
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and vascular access procedures (ports, PICCs, central lines)
- Arterial line management and ABG interpretation
- Familiarity with Alaris pumps, GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner and Stryker beds
- Infection prevention protocols and fall risk mitigation
- Experience with Epic electronic health record
- Respiratory support knowledge including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care
