Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and manage post-chemotherapy body fluid handling safely and according to ONS standards
• Provide specialized care for bone marrow transplant patients, including autologous, syngeneic and allogeneic transplant support
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients stable and informed
• Manage central lines, PICCs and implanted ports including blood draws and access management
• Administer and monitor blood products, recognizing and responding to transfusion reactions
• Use Epic to document care accurately and communicate abnormal lab values promptly
• Actively participate in infection prevention protocols and fall prevention initiatives
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — pharmacy, PT, RT, radiology, social work and rapid response teams — to deliver coordinated care

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with at least 2 years total nursing experience
• At least 1 year of recent hematology/oncology or MS oncology experience within the last 3 years (required for clinical pass)
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and rapid response team activation
• Experience with central line/port care, IV therapy and blood product administration
• Charting experience in Epic (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing principles
• Bone marrow transplant care and CAR-T therapy familiarity
• Chemotherapy administration and safe handling of cytotoxic agents
• Blood transfusion administration and recognition of transfusion reactions
• Central line / PICC / port care and management
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Sepsis recognition and management
• Feeding tube care and other complex inpatient oncology skills
• Isolation precautions and PPE best practices
