Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for ED hold patients primarily on medical/telemetry beds
• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and dysrhythmias
• Titrate and adjust cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone) per physician orders and established parameters
• Perform IV starts and safe medication administration for ED hold and telemetry patients
• Collaborate with ED charge nurses, PCTs, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient transitions
• Float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and sister EDs as needed while maintaining standards of care
• Complete required orientation including two med/surg/tele shifts and pass the day-one sim lab

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible to submit in Arizona
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Strong telemetry/cardiac experience — preferably 2 years caring for telemetry patients
• Proven ability to read and interpret ECG strips and recognize dysrhythmias
• Comfort and competence titrating cardiac drips per physician orders
• Experience with IV starts and medication administration
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system preferred
• Willingness to complete UNA dysrhythmia exam (pass/fail, up to 2 attempts) and pass sim lab on orientation day

Education

• Active RN license in Arizona (required)
• BSN not required (employer indicates BSN Required: No)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry nursing and dysrhythmia recognition
• ECG/strip interpretation and rhythm analysis
• Cardiac drip titration and drip management
• Emergency Department holds care and med/surg float experience
• Strong clinical judgement and rapid assessment skills
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Ability to follow protocols and physician parameters for titration
