Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in an acute care rehab environment to determine baseline function and clinical needs
• Develop individualized care plans that drive meaningful functional gains
• Deliver therapeutic procedures and interventions across orthopedic, neurologic and cardiopulmonary populations
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, speech therapists and rehab techs
• Document assessments, progress and plans thoroughly in Cerner PowerChart
• Communicate evaluation results and treatment plans clearly to patients, families and the care team
• Use patient lifting equipment and safe transfer techniques to maximize patient independence and safety

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum experience noted in the posting (Experience: 2) with at least 1 year acute care experience preferred
• Comfort with Cerner PowerChart documentation
• Experience with patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove) and safe transfer techniques
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across a multidisciplinary rehab team

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and functional assessment in acute care
• Care plan development and goal-directed treatment planning
• Therapeutic procedures for orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary patients
• Supervision and coordination of therapeutic services
• Clinical documentation in Cerner PowerChart
• Safe use of patient lifting and mobility equipment
• Ability to manage a 1:1 patient load and prioritize caseload effectively
