Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care for post-op cardiac and CVICU patients
• Manage mechanical ventilation and ventilator weaning with careful assessment and adjustments
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz catheter management to guide therapies
• Operate and monitor CRRT and Impella devices as indicated for patient support
• Assess and manage arterial lines, central lines, and chest tubes with safe line care practices
• Document patient care thoroughly in Meditech and communicate critical information to the team
• Collaborate closely with physicians, CNIs, and multidisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Support unit flow and provide compassionate education to patients and families

Qualifications

• Valid RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of acute critical care experience (CVICU, adult ICU, Neuro ICU or similar) as noted under must-have skills
• Demonstrated ventilator, arterial line, central line, and chest tube management experience
• Experience with CRRT and Impella preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• BSN and/or CCRN are preferred credentials

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Swan-Ganz catheter management
• Mechanical ventilation management and troubleshooting
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) operation and monitoring
• Familiarity with Impella device management
• Arterial and central line care, chest tube management
• Experience with GE monitoring systems and Meditech EMR
• Comfort working in a 2:1 patient ratio in a fast-paced CVICU environment
