Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care on the K9A Oncology/Women's Surgical unit
• Administer treatments and medications safely, following oncology protocols and facility policies
• Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing and escalating changes promptly
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver seamless care and support discharge planning
• Document care accurately in Cerner and maintain clear communication with patients and families
• Perform and assist with unit procedures such as occasional pelvic exams, echo support, and thoracentesis
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and contributing as a reliable team player

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (as listed)
• BLS certification (required)
• Chemo certification (preferred)
• Comfortable working with Cerner EMR
• Ability to work nights and the scheduled weekend requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong oncology nursing knowledge and experience
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record
• Skilled in patient assessment, IV/medication administration, and oncology protocols
• Ability to manage patient ratios typically 1:4 or 1:5
• Team-oriented communication and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with common unit procedures and med-surg fundamentals
