Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill BMT/oncology ICU patients
• Manage ventilators and support respiratory therapies, including BiPAP and trach care
• Titrate drips and vasoactive infusions safely and accurately according to protocols
• Perform total care tasks: dressing changes, turning, wound and trach management
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and build strong rapport with physicians
• Accurately document care in the Meditech EMR and communicate handoffs clearly
• Respond to rapid changes in patient condition and follow established unit guidelines
• Support unit staffing needs across ICUs, PCU and BMT as part of the floating plan

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (explicitly listed)
• Hands-on experience with ventilator management, BiPAP patients and titrating drips
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Comfort with tracheostomy care, A-lines and IV pump management
• Experience or willingness to work with CRRT and transplant (kidney/pancreas/liver) patients is a plus
• Ability to work rotating nights and weekends with a compassionate, team-first attitude

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN preferred)
• Active RN licensure required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ICU critical care skills and judgment
• Ventilator management and respiratory support (BiPAP, trach care)
• Titration of vasoactive drips and complex medication management
• Familiarity with CRRT and A-line monitoring
• Competence with Meditech EMR and flow-track systems
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient/family centered care
