Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to CVICU patients throughout the 12-hour day shift
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor hemodynamics, responding quickly to changes
• Collaborate with physicians, RTs and the multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and titrate infusions safely and accurately according to protocols
• Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly to maintain continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about condition, recovery expectations and discharge planning
• Participate in unit initiatives to improve patient safety and clinical outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• CVICU or critical care nursing experience; job lists Experience: 1 (year)
• Demonstrated ability to care for cardiovascular and post-operative cardiac patients
• Current BLS required; advanced cardiac certifications such as ACLS or other critical care certifications are a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ICU environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and interpretation of complex rhythms
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication management
• Familiarity with ventilator management and post-op cardiac care
• Solid assessment, prioritization and critical thinking skills in acute care settings
• Comfortable collaborating in interdisciplinary teams and supporting families
