Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry continuously to keep patients safe and stable
• Provide progressive care nursing interventions for medical-surgical and step-down patients
• Perform focused assessments and intervene quickly for short-stay and high-turnover patients
• Document clearly and timely in Cerner to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and charge nurse to maintain appropriate patient ratios
• Support patient experience with kind, compassionate care and strong communication
• Float to other units as needed to support staffing and maintain high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (state licensure requirements apply)
• 2+ years of progressive care / telemetry nursing experience (explicitly requested)
• Telemetry competency required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Experience with Cerner or similar EMR systems
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, short-stay/quick-turnover environment and ability to float

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
• Progressive care/step-down patient management
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR documentation and workflows
• Ability to manage 1:5 or 1:6 patient ratios (stretch as needed)
• Quick clinical decision-making for short-stay and mixed acuity patients
• Teamwork, positive attitude, and patient-centered communication
