Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate peri-procedural nursing care for endoscopy patients, ensuring safety and comfort throughout their visit
• Assist physicians and procedural teams during EGD, colonoscopy, EBUS, bronchoscopy, EUS, ERCP and other cases
• Perform thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and intervene promptly when needed
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Cerner and Provation
• Operate and care for procedural equipment including Olympus scopes/processors, ION and ERBE
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II to optimize patient flow
• Participate in on-call rotations and weekend 24-hour call shifts as scheduled
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and unit policies while promoting a calm, professional environment

Qualifications

• Current RN credentials (title: RN - Endoscopy) with required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Minimum 2+ years of in-hospital endoscopy experience (must-have)
• Scheduling flexibility — able to work variable day shifts and participate in call/weekend coverage
• Experience with Cerner and Provation preferred for documentation and charting
• Familiarity with Olympus scopes/processors, ION and ERBE a plus
• Pulmonary procedural experience (EBUS, bronchoscopy) is preferred but not required
• Comfort floating to PACU, Phase II, Pre-Op, or OR if asked

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in endoscopy procedures: EGD, colonoscopy, EBUS, bronchoscopy, EUS, ERCP, ION
• Hands-on familiarity with Olympus equipment, Olympus US machine, ERBE
• Proficient documentation and charting in Cerner and Provation
• Strong patient assessment, monitoring and emergency response skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a variable-volume unit
