Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of the supervising OTR to help patients regain independence
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions and assist patients with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document patient progress accurately and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques, home programs, and adaptive equipment
• Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe, clean treatment environment
• Contribute to team meetings and discharge planning to support safe transitions

Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential (required)
• State licensure/registration as required for practice in California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or able to obtain
• Previous clinical experience in acute, rehab, or skilled nursing settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in implementing occupational therapy interventions and ADL training
• Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, adaptive equipment, and activity analysis
• Comfortable with documentation and progress note standards
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Good clinical judgment, time management, and patient education skills
