Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to medical-surgical patients with accuracy and empathy
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor changes in condition, and communicate effectively with the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following established policies and best practices
• Coordinate patient care activities and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning to promote recovery
• Document care clearly and timely in the electronic health record to ensure continuity and safety
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based problem solving to enhance care delivery

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or compact RN license if applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and/or PALS preferred
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Comfortable with medication administration, IV therapy, and common MSK/medical-surgical procedures
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and provide high-quality care in a fast-paced setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, wound care, and post-op care
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting practices
• Ability to prioritize care, manage multiple patients, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient/family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
